Note from 2026. This piece is a snapshot from mid-2023 — back when "AI in web dev" mostly meant Wix ADI, early chatbots, and a lot of hand-wavy thinkpieces (hi, this is one of them). A lot has shifted since: Copilot and Cursor rewired how code gets written, LLMs landed directly inside IDEs and editors, and agent-driven workflows went from science fiction to Tuesday. I'm keeping this post up as an archive rather than updating it — it's useful to remember how the conversation sounded before the ground moved. Read it as a time capsule, not a forecast.
As we venture further into 2023, artificial intelligence (AI) continues to demonstrate an increasingly impressive capacity to revolutionize various industries. One domain experiencing a transformative influence of AI is web development.
